Feast of Transfiguration

St. Barnabas Catholic Church + 109 Crescent Hill Rd, Arden, NC

"Lord, it is well that we are here"

Matthew 17:4-6

Celebrant: Rev. Fr. Gregory Tipton

Father Tipton was baptized at age 22, after one of his professors at the University of Georgia introduced him to the Episcopal Church. He “chalks [his] being open to the Gospel” to his parents, who taught him to read frequently, enjoy the beauty of creation, and savor nightly family dinners with his grandparents.
Through that experience of natural love, Father Tipton says he became drawn to know the source of all love: Christ.

Married to Megan Tipton and the father of two children, Father Tipton, 32, celebrates Mass for Saint Aelred, the Ordinariate church plant he helped establish in Athens, Ga., in 2018. Since then they have grown to over 80 active and recently outgrew a diocesan space and moved into a standalone property.

Storytelling of the Transfiguration for Children & Adults by Nationally Renowned Storyteller Barbara Freeman!

6:00 - 6:15 pm in the main Church

This short concert will focus on what it was like to be at the Transfiguration where Jesus fulfills the law and the prophets. Our hope is that it will prime the imagination and heart for the mystery we celebrate in the Holy Mass to follow!

6:30 pm Solemn Mass in the Ordinariate Form

Following Mass: Root Beer Floats at Fletcher Park

The ice cream social has been upgraded to Root-Beer floats. It may not look as pretty as the one above, but it will be sanitary friendly! Every one will be given an individual vanilla ice cream, root beer, solo cup, straw and spoon.

We will plan on meeting at the pavilion at Fletcher Park, 85 Howard Gap Rd, Fletcher, NC. Invite a friend and help get the word out with this flyer.
